5th Questaal School

Overview

The 5th Questaal school will take place 11-14 March 2024 at National Renewable Energy Labs, Golden CO.

Topics covered

• Introduction to Questaal DFT, GW, and many-body perturbation theory (MBPT)
• External Speakers covering new approaches in MBPT, hybrid DFT and MBPT, excitons, and quantum computing
• Formal presentation of MBPT: the GW approximation and ladder diagrams as the dominant correction.
• Quasiparticle Self-Consistent GW: what it is; why it is needed; successes and limits.
• Special topics (spin susceptibility, spectral functions from electron correlations and lattice disorder, excitons in real space)
